( Character's Age ) : 16/17
( Series ) : Fate/stay night
( Canon Point ) : Heaven’s Feel; One year after the Normal End
( Playability ) : N/A
( History ) : Fate/stay night | Sakura’s page | Heaven’s Feel
( Personality ) :
When someone first meets Sakura Matou, she seems like an average, shy teenage girl. Maybe she was overly shy with strangers but once she gets to know someone, she becomes a bit more outgoing and cheerful and is eager to help out if they ask for it. Even with strangers, she’ll help the person out if they ask her to. She is a kind young woman who doesn't mind helping out. A girl with a smile on her face that seems to brighten the room and the day just a bit.
Underneath all of that is a girl who has suffered for too long. With the cruelty that came from living with the Matou family, there was only one person who truly loved and cared for her. This man was her adopted uncle, Kariya Matou, who participated in the Fourth Holy Grail War so he could give Sakura back to her family. Unfortunately, he died right in front of the young Sakura and she took this as a warning: If she ever tried to escape her grandfather’s clutches, she too would share a similar fate.
One could say Sakura is good at keeping her feelings hidden inside of her. As stated, she refuses to be a burden to anyone and would rather deal with the problems herself than to let anyone help her. She’s a bit stubborn in this aspect, and in general when it comes to someone she cares about, like when she ordered Shirou to stay home from school because he was sick and when she sent Rider to aid Shirou to warn Ilya about her grandfather’s plans. In the end, she really does mean well.
While she doesn’t really feel much hatred for people, other than her family, she is frustrated by her living conditions and was once a bit jealous of her sister especially when she started spending time with Shirou; not to mention Rin had a much better life than her. She was also frustrated by Rin’s ignorance towards her and cursed her for it while she was Dark Sakura, but was able to forgive her as well as herself for giving in to her weakness and hidden feelings when she changed back to her normal form. Yet, even if she gave in to her weakness, Sakura is a strong girl on the inside, having to suffer the abuse of her adopted family. Even if she hid her feelings, a lot of her strength is genuine and she'll let it out if she needs to. She's grown a lot since the Heaven's Feel route and she is now able to show more strength.
Her relationship with Shirou is the most important thing to her. She’s had a long-time crush on him – ever since she started to get to know him – and would pretty much do anything for him. She usually cooks and helps him around the house if needed and is considered a part of his family. Sakura truly loves him and promises to wait for him even though it’s obvious that he isn’t coming back. Similarly, Sakura would do anything for her sister Rin, even if she was a bit frustrated at her ignorance towards her in the beginning. Sakura cares about her sister a lot, which is why she was able to forgive her easily.
As for her servant, Rider, there’s a special bond between them that extends beyond Master-servant. Besides Shirou and Kariya, Rider was one of the few people that showed love and care for Sakura, so of course she considers her servant one of her true friends. They have a very close bond with each other and Sakura would probably sacrifice herself for Rider.
In the end, Sakura Matou is a quiet girl. A quiet and shy girl who had a lot of dark, hidden secrets dwelling inside of her that she couldn’t let out. Now, she is waiting for spring to return again so she could be with the one person she loves the most.
( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
STRENGTHS
✿Sakura is a rare mage that has Imaginary Numbers. It is her main Elemental Affinity and it is powerful against spiritual beings but not those whose body is not made up of mana. It’s also very possible to imprison someone into a Shadow Dimension.
✿Sakura is a loyal person, which allows her to jump into action is she’s needed. She is willing to protect anyone that she cares for.
✿Sakura is capable of Archery. She was in the Archery club at her school so she’s capable of shooting and arrow and defending herself if the time calls for it, since she doesn’t really use her magic very much.
✿Sakura is stubborn, so once her mind is set on something it’s very likely that she’ll change it.
✿While she is mostly physically weak, Sakura is known to be a strong person mentally. After all, she had suffered abuse most of her life and yet she has managed to regain a bright personality, even if sometimes it’s an act to hide what she’s really feeling.
WEAKNESSES
✿Despite having the ability to use Imaginary Numbers, Sakura lacks all five elements of magic, unlike her sister Rin Tohsaka. Therefore, while she is capable of summoning a servant she is not a capable magus.
✿Sakura can get jealous easily, especially if the topic is Shirou. She’s a bit too caring for him sometimes and really likes him. Luckily, she won’t actually kill anyone for him.
✿Sakura is pretty soft-spoken and shy around people, so making friends is always a bit of trouble. Once she gets comfortable with someone, she’ll be less shy.
✿As stated she’s a bit stubborn so if someone wanted to change her mind, it’s more than likely she won’t do it anytime soon.
( Other Important Facts ) :
As stated, Sakura is in the Archery club at her school, so she knows a thing or two about that. She’s not the best but she’s not the worst either. Sakura is also pretty skilled at cooking (as she’s always in Shirou’s kitchen).
( Sample ) :
Dressing Room Sample here!
The place she loved to be is the kitchen. Not just any kitchen though - his kitchen.
She probably knew his kitchen better than her own. She knew where all the pots and utensils were stored, where all of the food was on the shelf and what would be for dinner every night even before the day started. This was where she belonged. Oh, but we're not talking about just the kitchen. She belonged in his house, ever since she took her first step in.
This was her home and she didn't even realize it until his last days with her.
There was a soft smile on her face as she scrubbed the pan clean, making sure it was nice and bacteria-free for its next use. It was just Taiga, her and the occasional Rin that stopped by the check up on her, but it was home. She liked the quietness of the house when it was just her. It gave her some time to think about everything mostly.
"But it doesn't mean I really enjoy it," she said to no one in particular. The smile withered a bit as she moved her hand up to toss some of her hair back. "I guess I really do miss the chatting." But what did the chatting mean, the sound of a family? The girl laughed to herself at the thought. What does a family even sound like?
Looking up, she's silent as she watched the petals of the cherry blossoms fly pass the open window. One even flew in and laid in her hand as she caught it. Sakura wants to cry but inside, the smile grew just gently.
Another spring has passed.
